A Pinch of This, A Dash of That

*coughs*
*shuffles feet*

Hey there, guys...

It's been a while...

NaNoWriMo starts in FOUR DAYS.  FOUR!

Can you believe that?

I finally got my title today (it was between "Shattered Clockwork" and "Between the Lies" and I chose "Shattered Clockwork") after having had my plot for a week or two.  I'm quite excited actually.  I also made my cover today:

{The cover to my NaNo12, with my preferred pen name on it.}

It's fantasy, of course, and has princesses and castles, and lies and winged lions and man, I'm excited about it.

I've been crazy-busy recently.  I've finished my TARDIS costume!  Well, I finished it about two weeks ago, but I haven't posted since then...  I'm really quite excited about it, and I got to wear it to a Halloween carnival last night.  Only adults recognized it, (the carnival was at my old elementary school), but still, some people recognized it!  (Also, I am going trick-or-treating this year-- I'm only fourteen, that's not too old to go!)  I've also made a lot more nerdy manatees since I last posted-- I've now got three TARMISes, a Black Widow, the Impala from Supernatural, and a Sea Cow (it's white with black spots) that I've named Shindig in honor of Firefly.

I have laryngitis at the moment, so I can't actually talk at all.  I spent the day watching Supernatural and an episode of Classic Doctor Who and then I went to see a French film with my mom.

Basically, this is just an update to tell you that I'm sorry I haven't posted more, that I'll try to, and that OHMYGOODNESS NANOWRIMO.

Are you guys doing NaNoWriMo?  What are you doing for Halloween?  Do you craft at all?

  1. Your novel idea sounds fantastic, omgeeeee. I can't wait to read it! :) (Because you're going to let me, right?)

I'm sooo nervous around NaNoWriMo this year. I've got practice for the musical I'm in four days after school every week, and we have our performances in November. (Ahhhhh! We're performing in two weeks or so! I'm not ready for this!) Homework, too, is potentially a problem. And--just--argle! Are we friends on the NaNo site? We need to have a word war sometime this November.

Halloween--I'm not doing too much, to be honest. I was going to dress up, but what's the point? I'm not going trick-or-treating. I wish I could, but none of my friends are going. Also, trick-or-treating kind of always sucks around here, because it'll be freezing. Guaranteed. I did go to a halloween dance at my school, though. Fun. :) I was a flapper, because I was sleeping over at a friend's house and we decided to go a couple hours beforehand, so I had to wear one of her dresses. It was all good, though.

Your manatees make me squee so much. Too much cuteness!!

  2. I like your book cover! And your description of your novel is awesome. :)

I'm sorry to hear you have laryngitis. I hope you feel better soon!

  3. @Mika: Haha, it depends on how bad it is... :P

As for Halloween, it sucks that you can't go trick-or-treating since none of your friends are going-- it really isn't as much fun without friends. I'm going as the TARDIS, and one of my friends is being Eleven with me! :D

Also, thanks about my manatees! They're fun, if a bit of a pain in the butt. (221B Manatee Street was definitely the worst though... he took me about four hours? It was a nightmare, but my friend sure appreciated him. :D )

@Eagle: Thanks! How's your planning going?

  4. You should post your costume pictures. It would be fun to see a TARDIS costume.
